Important News About Your Subscription All ‘Freemium’ accounts will be discontinued on 31st July 2024Dear Active UserI am writing to you as a registered user of our platform ‘Dyscover’ by Dystech Australia. We note that you have been using the ‘Freemium’ version of our platform. This FREE version is no longer available and we will be phasing out all freemium accounts over the next 6 weeks. Why? Basically the costs of running the platform have increased significantly and we need to, at the very least, cover our costs. Most importantly is that we need to continue to support you and develop more features to help you in your efforts to identify and support literacy needs. We can’t do this while maintaining such a large volume of freemium accounts. |
Why did we start the company? Since the start of our company in 2018 we have grown from a simple proposal to answer the question , ‘Is this dyslexia?’ to a World-wide platform being used in many countries. We observed lots of little ‘Johnys’ and ‘Sallys’ in classrooms and other environments exhibiting poor signs of literacy. In many cases it wasn’t clear as to why? We wanted to help as many children as possible by helping to identify those that: may need further support those who clearly don’t, and those who might need support? To do this we needed as much data as possible to help develop our algorithms and machine learning processes. Initially this was sourced very slowly one recording at a time over a number of years. Then, after a lot of testing and measuring we released our platform to the public. In an effort to help out as many people as possible we made the platform entirely free. Then we introduced paid accounts for larger users and added more features. We now have 1000’s of regular users, yourself included, located across the globe. Thank you We simply could not have done this without YOU. |
Platform Development Along our journey we have been able to develop our platform even further by measuring and delivering the following reading assessment metrics in addition to our foundational ‘dyslexic screener’: Phonetic Decoding Fluency Sight Word Fluency Word Reading Fluency Reading Accuracy Syllabication Orthographic Mapping Speed Word Reading Speed Phonics Assessment: CVC Syllables CVC + Syllables Silent E Syllables Soft G & C’s Vowel teams Diphthongs R-Controlled Vowels Basic Affixes Phonological Awareness Assessment: Rhyming Ability Rhyming Recognition Sentence Recall Syllable Division Syllable Omission and more…… |
